EC technology double Awards – MATERIALICA design + technology award of the MATERIALICA design + technology award was awarded for the tenth time on 23 October 2012 and ebm-papst succeeded with two products among the winners. “” “The EC external rotor motor” won a Gold Award in the category of surface + technology “and the extractor Extractor hood fan in EC technology” product was in the category “awarded the Silver Award. A jury made up of material and design experts selected a total of 30 winners in five categories from about 100 entries. Both award-winning products from ebm-papst put on compact Motors of Greentech EC technology with the tried and tested principle of external rotor. The new EC motors with integrated Kommutierungs- and control electronics allows a simple exchange of conventional AC motors. The one-piece rotor with shaft neatly saves fabrication steps, as required by multifunctional parts of less items. The discharge cooling concept and a comparatively low packet length help reduce material. EC motors used in cooker Extractor hood fan work through their high efficiency energy saving, are lightweight and durable, and – thanks to special technologies that reduce the structure-borne noise, – also extremely quiet.
